Description: Vumah is a peer-to-peer vehicle-sharing platform, focusing initially on small to medium-sized rental businesses. The platform also integrates social features to enhance user engagement and community building. We are seeking a skilled developer to take over the project and complete the website.
The site is built using Node.js for the backend and React.js for the frontend. This handover document provides an overview of the current status, pending tasks, and project expectations.
Current Project Status Completed: Core backend structure with Node.js Basic frontend with React.js Initial user authentication (registration and login) Basic layout and navigation for hosts and guests In Progress/Partially Completed: Social feed integration for user engagement Vehicle listing functionality for hosts (including media uploads) Booking system for guests (needs final tweaks) Payment integration (Stripe API in testing phase) Subscription plans for hosts (Vumah Plus and Vumah Elite, partially implemented) Ads manager for hosts to promote listings (backend logic partially done, frontend pending) Pending: Finalizing and testing booking workflows Enhancing user profile management (e.g., reviews, account settings) Admin dashboard for managing users, hosts, and listings Completing the Ads Manager feature (bidding and placement logic) Social feed integration (user post sharing, location tagging, trending posts) Responsive design for desktop and mobile Bug fixes and performance optimization Deployment and final testing
Responsibilities The new developer will be responsible for: Completing the remaining tasks outlined above. Collaborating with the project owner (me) to align on requirements and expectations. Testing and debugging the platform to ensure a seamless user experience. Preparing the website for deployment, including server setup if needed. Providing support and documentation for the finished product.
Skills Required Proficient in Node.js and React.js Familiarity with Stripe API for payment integration Experience with database systems (preferably MongoDB) Strong understanding of web application architecture and REST APIs Experience with responsive design and front-end optimization Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Additional Information Budget: $5,000 (negotiable based on experience and timeline) Timeline: Ideally, the project should be completed within 6-8 weeks. Communication: Regular updates via email or video calls are required to track progress. Support Provided: Existing codebase, documentation (if available), and direct access to the project owner for clarifications.
