Role Overview: We’re seeking an experienced Freelance Local SEO Specialist to join our team on a project-by-project basis. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase our clients’ local visibility, improve search rankings, and drive more qualified leads from their target regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Local Keyword Research & Analysis: Identify high-impact, location-specific keywords tailored to each client’s industry and service area. On-Page & Technical Optimization: Enhance website content, meta tags, internal linking, and site structure to meet SEO best practices and improve organic visibility. Local Listings & Citations: Set up, optimize, and manage Google Business Profiles and other industry-relevant local directories. Ensure all citations are accurate, consistent, and fully optimized. Content Strategy & Creation: Recommend and coordinate the production of locally-focused content, including blog posts, landing pages, and FAQs that address local customer needs. Link Building & Outreach: Develop and execute white-hat link-building strategies, focusing on local partnerships, sponsorships, and relevant community resources. Performance Tracking & Reporting: Monitor keyword rankings, website traffic, lead metrics, and conversions. Provide regular, data-driven insights to guide ongoing improvements and demonstrate ROI to clients. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about local SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices. Continuously refine strategies to maintain or improve client performance. Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: Minimum 2+ years of proven experience in local SEO, with a track record of driving results for multiple clients or industries. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Google Business Profile optimization, technical SEO principles, schema markup, and industry-standard tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Moz, Ahrefs). Analytical Mindset: Skilled at interpreting performance data and transforming insights into actionable recommendations. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex SEO concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders. Organization & Time Management: Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
