Expected duration: Not sure We are a UK-registered startup operating in Portugal and are looking for an experienced accountant to assist with UK-Portugal tax compliance. The ideal candidate must be familiar with the UK-Portugal Double Tax Treaty and able to handle cross-border tax filings.
Responsibilities:
✅ Ensuring compliance with the UK-Portugal Double Tax Treaty ✅ Filing business tax returns in the UK (HMRC) and Portugal (AT – Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira) ✅ Advising on tax obligations in both countries to prevent double taxation ✅ Handling annual tax filings and compliance reporting ✅ Providing guidance on business structure for tax efficiency
Requirements: • Experience in international tax accounting (specifically UK & Portugal) • Knowledge of cross-border business taxation • Familiarity with Portuguese tax regulations and HMRC requirements • Ability to provide cost-effective solutions for a startup
