Looking for a lawyer or barrister to get involved in a legal dispute against an established company (plus individual) both with easily traceable assets (we will get the money if we win).
VERY SIMPLE SUMMARY: I was working in a commercial agreement which was part verbal, part written (in an email). I had know the person prior to working with them and I have evidence to prove they were repeatedly aware of the agreement.
My offer to them? I would provide commercial services in exchange for a percentage of the business's turnover for an indefinate period of time, however, until the other partner (who was also an investor) had his investment back, I would not take out any finance from the business until he had his initial investment back. I wanted to make him understand that whilst I was focused on getting the commercial incentives agreed that his investment would be priority but, once he had his investment back, any unclaimed fees would be due.
Only problem? When it came time to paying my fee's, the other person did not want to know.
There was no written contract between both parties, however, there was a verbal agreement, followed in writing via email outlining the terms of the agreement being provided by myself (individual) to the other person / his company.
I am looking to recover the unpaid commercial fee's, plus, loss of profits on top of those fee's because I only stopped providing the commercial services as he did not honour the deal, through no fault of my own.
I have various witnesses that can support and evidence as such but this will in some ways be a complex claim because of the sums involved.
This is a venue in central london and the dispute value is, in my assessment, high. Obviously as a lawyer you would be able to give your own thoughts on fee's recoverable plus additional compensation.
OFFICIALLY I want to represent myself and if required, launch a claim via HWF however I would like a lawyer to engage in trying to get a settlement via mediation and if not, helping to prepare the claim and then assist with finding a suitable barrister if it does go to court.
FEE'S will be on a sliding scale. The more we win, the more you will make. I want someone who is passionate, motivated and will help me get the maximum amount of compensation to secure justice after what this person has done to me.
Please understand this will not be a small claim, even without the loss of profits/opportunity element, the initial fee's based on factual proved revenue is coming in at approximately £30k.
Whilst you don't need to be the most experienced or qualified lawyer in the world, I do need someone who has a basic level of understanding to help navigate this and work with me so that the odds of success are greater via this path compared to what I can achieve on my own.
SUGGESTED COMMISSION: 10% for £0-£30k 20% for £30k - £100k 35% for £100k +
As such, you COULD make more than the advertised £10k for the project. It really depends on your skillset and hunger for justice.
