Specifically, it aims to build a robust filtering system to extract relevant roster information from a daily Excel database housing player names, figures, and team affiliations. The system shall initially fetch confirmed starting lineups for that day's fixtures from a reputable sports data provider, distinguishing only outfield athletes included in each club's first choice XI. It will then sift through the statistic workbook to aggregate the metrics of lineup members while associating them with their respective squads. Once all teams are paired with their opponents as scheduled, the system will juxtapose the cumulative stats of facing lineups side-by-side in the worksheet with visual indicators accentuating advantageous team and player matchups. Exception handling protocols will also be integral to address any irregularities stemming from unmatched athletes due to last-minute lineup changes or incomplete data collection approximately one hour prior to kick-off for increased accuracy and to facilitate streamlined between-match comparison and analysis.
