Project Details:
Target Audience: Children ages 5-8
Page Count: 28–32 pages
Art Style: Child-friendly, expressive, and colorful with an Afrocentric focus
Illustration Requirements:
Full-page and Spot Art: A mix of full-page illustrations and smaller spot art to complement the text
Cover Illustration: Either a front or wraparound design
Deliverables:
Print-ready files (300 DPI, CMYK, PDF or PSD)
Final artwork with text layout incorporated for each page
Ideal Experience:
Previous experience with children's book illustrations
Strong understanding of African or Afro-diasporic themes
Ability to create expressive, emotionally resonant characters
Comfort with creating modern yet culturally grounded environments and characters, avoiding stereotypes
A passion for bringing stories to life through visuals, with attention to cultural detail and character emotion
