We are developing a people counting system based on ESP32 microcontroller and dual ultrasonic sensors (HC-SR04). The system is designed to accurately detect entries (A→B) and exits (B→A) of individuals passing through a doorway, corridor, or passage, and display the results on an OLED display. Data (live count, entry/exit logs, People inside) should be displayed on an OLED screen and simultaneously monitored wirelessly on smartphones or laptops using a Wi-Fi local host web interface (up to 8 clients connected at once). Our goal is to achieve 100% accurate counting regardless of walking speed (slow or fast), hand movements, or diagonal walking, while avoiding multiple counts when a person is standing still within the sensor’s range.
