We are a UK-based e-commerce business selling on Etsy & eBay, Shopify looking for a certified, tech-savvy accountant. The project is to manage a clean handover from our previous accountant and set us up for self-sufficient bookkeeping on Xero. This involves setting up our new Xero and Dext accounts, integrating them with Link My Books, and ensuring the balance sheet reconciles perfectly. This is an opportunity for a long-term relationship.
Scope of Work
Your initial tasks will be to act as our representative to receive all financial records from our previous firm. You will create and configure our new accounts on Xero and Dext. You will also set up and configure Link My Books to correctly pull sales data from our Etsy and eBay stores and post summaries to Xero. A key task is to migrate all historical data and meticulously check that the opening balances in Xero are correct and fully reconciled.
Bespoke Video Training
We require a specific training format. First, you will record a detailed Zoom screen-share video performing key bookkeeping tasks, including how to process and reconcile sales data from Link My Books, providing commentary as you work. After I review the video, I will provide a list of follow-up questions, which you will answer in a final Q&A video.
Ongoing Relationship
After the initial setup, we would like to engage you for long-term support. This will include paid hourly consultations for any complex questions and engaging you annually to review our bookkeeping, prepare, and file the statutory accounts.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate must be a certified UK Accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, or similar) with deep expertise in Xero, Dext, and especially Link My Books. You must have proven experience managing accountant-to-accountant handovers for e-commerce clients. You need to be a clear communicator, fluent in English, and must be comfortable with the recorded video training methodology.
