Dispute Overview
This case concerns an online college’s handling of my complaint and Subject Access Request (SAR).
Key Issues • My original complaint about lack of support and accessibility was prematurely closed, with dispute statements ignored. • The college has now stated they are no longer willing to comment on my closed complaint and have referred me to external organisations such as Citizens Advice, rather than addressing the issues directly. • A SAR was submitted to clarify enrolment details and support history. The response was late, incomplete, and failed to address my correction request. I still have not received the full SAR disclosure. • Special category data (learning difficulties and dyslexia) was disclosed in both 2019 and 2025 but disregarded by both the complaints team and the data team.
Requested Outcomes • Proper investigation of the complaint. • Rectification of GDPR and Equality Act breaches. • Clarification of enrolment status and refund/credit where applicable. • Direct engagement from the college, rather than being referred away to external organisations. • Advice on whether I have legal grounds to pursue this further apart from escalating to the ICO for to the SAR breach.
