I need a comprehensive art catalog featuring a curated selection of paintings and photographs. The catalog should showcase a diverse range of painting styles, including abstract, realism, and impressionism. The final product should be available in both digital and printed formats.
This is not primarily a graphic design or catalog layout project at this stage. The priority is building a structured system to manage a large art collection of about 1,000 to 2,000 works.
I need someone with experience in database setup and workflow design. Ideally someone comfortable with tools like Airtable, CatalogIt, or similar platforms, and who understands how to structure and scale image-heavy collections.
The key areas I need help with: • Building a clean database structure with fields for status (private collection, in storage, on display, available for sale), location tracking, and categories like style, subject, and artist • Creating an efficient image workflow, including batch uploads and a simple process for attaching iPhone-scanned images to entries • Importing and mapping an existing Google Sheet with 300 to 400 entries • Setting up filtering and views so I can easily sort by status, location, and category
AI features like metadata suggestions or size estimation are optional. They are not required but could be a bonus if implemented well.
User access and permissions are not a priority right now. This will mainly be used by me.
Most important is that the system is simple to use, scalable, and that I fully own and can export all data.
If possible, I would like candidates who can show examples of similar systems they have built, especially inventory or catalog systems with images.
