SG is an approved Shopify app. The current version connects to Shopify, retrieves store data, and displays basic insights.
We are now upgrading ScaleGuard into a Store Audit & Readiness Engine.
This is not a generic analytics dashboard project.
This system must become a high-value decision tool that tells Shopify merchants:
- What is broken in their store - What must be fixed first - Whether the store is actually ready to scale - What may cause them to waste money if they run ads too early
Core Product Positioning
ScaleGuard does not help merchants scale faster. ScaleGuard stops merchants from scaling too early.
The system must function as:
- a pre-scale audit tool - a store readiness engine - a decision support system - a prioritized fix engine
2. Project Goal
Build a production-ready system that:
- audits real Shopify store data - detects critical store issues - evaluates store readiness for scaling - produces structured, evidence-based recommendations - prioritises actions - gives a clear verdict
This system must generate outputs that feel specific, trustworthy, and operationally useful.
If the output could apply to almost any store, it is too generic and will be considered insufficient.
These requirements are mandatory and define the core value of the product.
3.1 The app must not output generic advice
Examples of unacceptable output:
- “Prioritise best-selling SKUs” - “Improve your store performance” - “Optimise your catalog”
Examples of acceptable output:
- “Do not run ads yet. 6 products have invalid pricing and 11 listings are missing images.” - “Your catalog lacks niche clarity. Mixed product positioning reduces trust and conversion potential.” - “18 product descriptions are too weak to support conversion on paid traffic.”
3.2 Every recommendation must contain:
- What was detected - Why it matters - What the merchant should do next
3.3 The app must provide a verdict
The system must always return one of these:
- Ready to Scale - Almost Ready - Not Ready - High Risk to Scale
3.4 The app must prioritise
The system must not only list issues. It must answer:
- What should be fixed first - What is high impact - What can wait - What is likely blocking growth
